An environmentally friendly, sustainable restaurant gets closer within reach with each day.

More and more diners expect sustainability, and according to a recent survey from SCA's Tork brand, they would also be willing to pay a little more to eat in a green restaurant.

There are immediate updates that can be made, including making the switch from traditional light bulbs with energy-efficient compact fluorescent lights (CFLs), light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and halogen incandescent.

It helps to think 'outside of the box' - Packaging can be redesigned, pared down, and made of recycled material. Some restaurants now opt for environmentally friendly delivery options, on foot, bike, or via hybrid vehicles. Chefs grow their own gardens to provide fresh produce to their customers.
