INTERIOR SYSTEMS, INC. HOSTING ‘UPCYCLED’ GALLERY NIGHT TO BENEFIT HUNGER TASK FORCE
Milwaukee – January 9, 2008 - Interior Systems, Inc. (www.isiamerica.com) is opening their doors on Gallery Night and Day for a showcase of ‘Upcycled’ artwork created by artists from ISI’s office and manufacturing facilities.
Artists have used ‘scrap’ materials from various areas of ISI production and have created unique pieces of fine art & fine craft. These art works not only showcase what can be done with ‘Upcycled’ materials, but they will also benefit local Milwaukee residents in need.
Works from the show will be sold in a silent auction with all money collected to be donated to Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee. “This is an exciting opportunity to use the talent within our company to benefit and serve the community,” said Lindsey Bovinet, President/CEO of ISI.
‘Upcycling’ takes materials once considered scrap and turns them into valuable media for artwork. Instead of ‘recycling’ which requires the use of energy and resources to transform a post-industrial waste material into something else, ‘upcycling’ puts a greater value on leftover items and utilizes them in a more permanent and valued way.
The ‘Upcycled’ showcase is being held at ISI’s Milwaukee office, 241 N. Broadway, Suite 600. The exhibit opens on Friday, January 18 from 5-9 pm with food, beverage and silent auction. Exhibits will also be open on Saturday, January 19 from 10 am - 5 pm.
