Theisen Junior High was where I learned the finer points of patching the holes in my fiberglass kayak during shop class. While attending L.P. Goodrich High School, my passion for woodworking was born. During this time, I worked at Ledge Wood Country Club as a cook,
where I met the other passion of my life, my wife Christine, who was a waitress at the time. After my time in the restaurant business, I worked with a carpenter in Green Lake, Wisconsin, and a local paper box company when I received a call from Interior Systems.
Be good and be kind to your neighbors. -Richard Serres
My career at ISI started in the Cabinetry Department for two years, followed by 11 years in Décor, four years in Estimating, and the last 10 years as a CNC Router Lead Man. My main
responsibility is to keep all of our departments supplied with the top quality parts they require for CNC to build the best seating and décor packages in the world.
I was born and raised in Fond du Lac, and am the youngest with four older sisters, Gail, Kathy, Susie, and Barbra. My father Richard, worked for Sears Roebuck, and my mother Catherine, was a RN at Saint Agnes Hospital. I received my work ethic from both of my parents, who believed a strong work ethic is good for the soul.
In November 1985 I married Chris Schaub in Fond du Lac. On April 6, 1989 our son Ben was born. He is a project manager for a forensics consulting company in Virginia.
Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, bowling, gardening, fishing, movies, dancing, and dining with friends and family. I like reading books by Vince Flynn, David Baldacci and John Grisham, along with wood smith and handyman magazines. Happiness is a medium rare steak, an ice cold beer, a well struck golf shot, the tug of a walleye, bowling a 700 series, being proud of your child and his accomplishments, and marrying your soul mate.
