As the Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Manager, I oversee the associates and the day to day function of the CAD department. I am in charge of prioritizing, scheduling and delegating work assignments. I also directly supervise the CAD staff to ensure delivery of the highest quality service to customers, while meeting the delivery requirements.
Early on in my work experience, I held several different positions. In 1991, I worked for an environmental firm and one of my duties was to prepare site maps for the projects we were working on. I used a generic CAD program to do this, but I could see the potential from that point forward. I saw an ad on TV for ITT Technical Institute,
Leaders aren't born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal. -Vince Lombardi
which was just starting to offer their CAD program in the area and realized it was time to go back to school. I earned my Associates of Applied Science Degree in Computer Aided Drafting in 1993 and have been involved working in that field ever since.
I began my career at Interior Systems on a six month contract back in
July of 2003 and was brought on permanently in January of 2004. I started as a CAD associate learning the design side of the business then in March of 2004; I took a position as a Project Manager and furthered my knowledge with the company. In February 2005, I was promoted to manager and have been in that role since.
Ever since I was able to run, I was involved in sports. I played just about everything, but then during my senior year of high school, I tore my ACL in football. I tried to continue my playing days, but just ended up having more knee injuries and surgeries. Now, besides walking my dogs and riding my bike, I'm still able to chase a little white ball from one side of the fairway to the other. Last year I golfed more than I ever did, but I don't think I'll be joining the tour anytime soon.
I follow the three main Wisconsin sports, watching the Packers, Brewers and Bucks as much as I can. I also help pay for the athletes salaries by attending several of these games during the year. Besides sports, I love to watch movies. My only problem is once I start watching a movie; I need to watch the whole thing, no matter how bad it is.
I also am hooked on TV in general, filling up the DVR on a regular basis.I have five kids, three of the human kind and two dogs. The eldest daughter, 19, is in college pursuing a teaching degree. My son, age 15, is heavy into sports, as is my youngest daughter, age 14. It seems like there is always a game to go watch, they keep me very busy. Both of our dogs came from the Humane Society. One is a Chow/Black Lab mix and the other a Border Collie/Australian shepherd mix. They love to beat the crap out of each other.
Both parents are still alive living in Arizona. I have an older brother, who also lives out in Arizona and an older sister living in Minnesota. I can't wait to retire and head to Arizona myself, hopefully before I turn 80.
