I attended a trade's high school, called Windham Regional Vocational Technical High School in Willimantic, CT, and was accepted into the Carpentry Department. It was a great experience and allowed me to see and learn many of the facets of the carpentry trade like hand tool, woodshop, solid wood cabinetry, and home and commercial construction. My education helped me build skills and understanding that I continue to use today. Having worked in the high end frameless kitchen cabinet and large commercial millwork industries, I ran my own carpentry business called Thread City Woodworks from 1995 to 2000. From custom counter and kitchen installations to rehabbing famous mills, it was a great experience start
to end before I transitioned into the evolving CAD engineering field.
My current role at Interior Systems is Engineering Manager. Interior Systems is an exciting, cross functional, and highly interactive environment with such talented, driven, and competent co-workers that you can't help but want to be a part of it. The Interior Systems culture makes working with others through the chaos and challenges we experience in QSR, Education, and Retail business, highly rewarding because your teammates will provide genuine constructive feedback for your efforts. Part of my job is to also implement continuous improvement ideas and processes to maintain our excellence in each market we serve.
"Straight, Level, square and plumb, help to get things done. True in the trade and in life." - Paul J. Carbone
I 've lived in Sheboygan, WI since 2007. I'm originally from a small thread mill town that straddles the river named Willimantic, CT. Willimantic is home to the one time largest employer in the country, American Thread which is formerly the Willimantic Linen Company.
I've been married to my wife Michelle since 1994. Michelle is a nurse (MSRN) and has many family members in the care giving/healthcare field. We have a daughter, Peta, who will graduate from Sheboygan North High School in 2016 and a son, Miles, who will graduate in 2018. Our family has 2 pets - Chula (a 6 year old female Red Doberman that has started to be seen around the Interior Systems Shop) and Plumber (a rescue male orange short haired Brindle Tabby).
Spring, Fall, and Summer work weekends on Great Gull Island (1990-2007) were an eye opening experience into the power and beauty that is nature. This allowed me to experience the power and beauty that is human cooperation in trying to help the Common and Roseate Tern colonies established there. Besides meeting people from all walks of life, from bus drivers to PHD's to making life long family friends, it reconnected me to a childhood love and awe for birds and bird life.
I love watching movies of all genres, especially Lagaan and LOR's, and TV series I like are Cheers, Couplings, Star Trek, and Dr. Who. In music some of my favorites are Miles Davis, Al Dimeola, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline, Bjork, and Adele. Some of my hobbies include golfing, golfing, golfing (not a mistake), birdwatching, and woodturning.
