After High School, I spent a couple years working in Auto Body in Waupaca. I went to school for accounting and earned a degree, from Fox Valley Tech. I then worked at Krause Publications, in Iola, Wisconsin. I also spent some time as the Business Manager at the Iola Hospital and Nursing Home. While living in Iola, I joined the Volunteer Fire Department, which is how I got started firefighting. In January of 1990, I was hired on at the Fond du Lac Fire Department. Because of my new profession, I went to school
at the Milwaukee Area Technical College and earned my Fire Science Degree. I also put in the work at Fox Valley Tech again, and earned my Paramedic license. I worked my way from firefighter/paramedic to Lieutenant. Three years ago, I retired from the Fire Department and went back to construction for a period of time. This past spring, I was hired for a special project at ISI and was quickly brought on full time. I really enjoy working with all the different people and on various types of projects.
"You can only do what you can do"
I grew up in Waupaca, WI and graduated from high school in 1974. Two years later I met my wife, Debbie. We have four great kids together. My oldest son, Erik works here at ISI with me. When I moved to Fond du Lac in 1990, I built our house in three months. I really enjoy wood working.
Even on my days off I build things for around the house. I am currently restoring a 1968 Pontiac Lemans, which happens to be my wife's first car! I am doing a ground up restoration on it. I really enjoy boating and camping in the summer, and in the winter snowmobiling.
